In today’s message, we turn to Numbers 9 and the striking image of the cloud and fire—God’s visible presence guiding the Israelites on their journey. Whether for one night or an entire year, they moved only at the Lord’s command. This passage challenges our modern rhythms and reminds us that true faith involves surrendering our plans to God's timing. We explore how God not only directs our steps but also sets the pace, teaching us to trust Him in the “Go” and in the “Wait.” Though we may not see a cloud ov

In today’s message, we journey into Exodus 32 and the sobering account of the golden calf—a moment that exposes the dangers of spiritual impatience. While Moses meets with God on Mount Sinai, the people below grow restless, choosing a counterfeit god over waiting in faith. Their compromise leads to idolatry, and God’s anger burns. Yet in the midst of judgment, we witness Moses’ steadfast leadership and powerful intercession. This passage urges us to consider the high cost of giving in to pressure and the s

In today’s message, we explore the story of manna in the wilderness and what it reveals about God’s faithful provision and our response to it. As the Israelites struggle with hunger and fear, God supplies them with daily food—manna and quail—and invites them into a rhythm of trust and obedience. This passage challenges us to resist the urge to hoard out of anxiety and instead cultivate hearts of gratitude. It also reminds us that Sabbath is a sacred gift—a way of building healthy patterns of work and rest t

In this passage, Moses and the Israelites respond to their miraculous deliverance from Egypt by singing a song of praise to the Lord. This “Song of Moses” celebrates God’s power in defeating Pharaoh’s army at the Red Sea, His unmatched strength, and His faithfulness to His people. The song recounts how God hurled the Egyptian forces into the sea, protected His people, and affirmed His plan to bring them into their promised inheritance. The passage concludes with Miriam, Moses' sister, leading the women in s

Revd Dr Kang-San Tan
Dr Kang-San Tan shares with us what the purpose and meaning of mission is, both globally and locally. We will be seeing how mission comes from God and is rooted in His very nature—Missio Dei. It is not something the church initiates on its own, but something we are invited into. From Genesis to Revelation, we see God’s heart for all nations and peoples, and we are called to participate in His redeeming work. This will be a powerful opportunity to reflect on how we, as individuals and as a church, can embody

Life’s transitions often leave us feeling caught in between—no longer where we were, but not yet where we’re going. In this message, we look at the dramatic moment when the Israelites find themselves trapped between the Red Sea ahead and Pharaoh’s army behind. This powerful story reveals three key truths: - Fear can blind us to God’s power - God’s deliverance comes in His timing - Faith is stepping forward when God makes a way Crossing over to the other side isn’t just about escape—it’s about trust. It’s

The Israelites' journey, especially during the Exodus, was not just about physical liberation but also about shedding old identities and mindsets. When faced with uncertainty, they often longed for the familiarity of their past, even if it meant returning to slavery. Their struggle highlights how deeply ingrained past experiences can be, even when stepping into newfound freedom. This theme of letting go resonates beyond history—it’s something many people face during li

LEAVING THE PAST BEHIND - WHEN GOD CALLS US TO MOVE Change is difficult, even when it’s good for us. The Israelites had lived in Egypt for generations (400 years) – Egypt was all they knew. God called them out of captivity, but stepping into the unknown required trust. However leaving Egypt wasn’t just a physical move, it was also a spiritual shift. God wasn’t just calling them to a new land, he was calling them into a new identity. The main points we want to explore are how when God calls us to move, we a

Easter isn’t just a moment to celebrate once a year — it’s the foundation of a whole new way of life. In this message, we’ll explore how, through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God has given us a brand new identity. We are no longer slaves to sin but are now alive to God and called to live in light of that freedom. Romans 6 reminds us that the resurrection doesn’t just offer hope for the future — it empowers us to live differently today. Because we are united with Christ, we are invited to live as Easter

Easter Sunday is the glorious celebration of Jesus’ resurrection—a moment that changed everything. His death wasn’t just a tragic event; it was a sacrifice made out of love, paying a price none of us could ever repay. And His resurrection? It’s the ultimate victory, proof that life triumphs over death and that hope is eternal. The Sermon Video emphasizes this very message—"Paid in Full – Given at Great Cost." It reflects on what Jesus endured, not just for Himself but for those around Him, and highlights th

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at Crofton Baptist Church (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space in our car park or nearby streets and to find a seat before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

After the service, we serve tea, coffee, and biscuits. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and connect with our community. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our band. We typically have 2 or 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church, followed by a short 'all aged' talk that engages the whole church family. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with worship once again, singing 3 or 4 songs. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

  • Creche (0 months to 3 years). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/carer at all times.
  • Starters (3-5 years / preschool age)
  • Followers (6-8 years)
  • Pilgrims (9-11 years)
  • Intrepid (12-14 years)
  • Next Gen (15-18 years)

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome and songs. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Our leaders will bring back the children during the final set of worship songs.

Check out Life Groups page for more information, or speak to Moises who can put you in touch with a life group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
