SAT-7
SAT-7 is a pioneering Christian satellite television network dedicated to providing the Churches and Christians of the Middle East and North Africa with a powerful platform to share the message of Jesus Christ. Through inspirational, informative, and educational programming, SAT-7 offers a unique opportunity for these communities to witness their faith in a region where they are often scattered and isolated.
Launched in 1996, SAT-7 was born out of a collaboration between 25 different Christian agencies and churches from the Middle East, Europe, and North America. United by a shared vision, they sought to see the Church in this region grow in confidence, faith, and witness, serving their communities and contributing positively to society and culture.
The Vision of SAT-7 is Threefold:
-
Encouragement: Strengthening the scattered Christian communities of the Middle East, empowering them in their faith, service, and witness for Christ.
-
Understanding: Offering viewers an opportunity to learn about Christian beliefs in their own languages—Arabic, Farsi, and Turkish—free from external cultural or political influences.
-
Education: Providing balanced programming that reflects a Christian worldview, complementing public education and information channels with biblical perspectives on life and society.
Today, SAT-7 broadcasts 24 hours a day, reaching over 6 million regular viewers with its free-to-view digital service. The network's diverse programming includes special features for children, youth, and women, making a significant impact on lives across the region. This remarkable ministry is sustained by charitable giving from supporters around the world.
Terry Ascott, a member of Crofton Baptist Church, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SAT-7, guiding this dynamic television service as it continues to bring hope and truth to millions.
