In the second week of our Core Values series, we’ll reflect on the importance of gathering together as a church family. Using Hebrews 10:19-24, we’ll explore how participating regularly in "together times" strengthens our faith, deepens our sense of belonging, and reminds us of the hope we have in Christ. This passage, written to believers who were struggling with discouragement, encourages us to persevere by recognising the forgiveness we’ve received, the confidence we have in Christ’s work, and the signi

This Sunday, we begin our new series Core Values by exploring the foundation of our faith as followers of Jesus Christ. In a message titled We Believe, we’ll reflect on how our shared statement of faith at Crofton Baptist Church shapes not only what we believe but also how we live and belong together as God’s people. Using 1 Peter 2:10 as a key verse—“Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy”—we’ll explore how our belief

This week, we conclude our Advent series with Peaceful Signs, looking beyond Jesus’ birth to the ultimate promise of God’s eternal peace. Returning to the book of Isaiah, we reflect on the grand narrative of God’s plan to make all things new and bring an end to all wars, offering hope for the future and wisdom for the present.

Our Ultimate Signs sermon on Christmas Day reminded us why we celebrate with such joy and gratitude. Jesus’ birth is not just a moment in history—it is the ultimate sign of God’s love, salvation, and faithfulness to His creation.

This Christmas Eve, our Carols by Candlelight service reflected on Hopeful Signs, exploring the deep hope found in the Christmas story. Amidst a world that often feels heavy with uncertainty, we turned to the scriptures to discover how the birth of Jesus is the ultimate sign of God’s unwavering presence and promises.

This week, we’ll focus on a passage from Luke 1 that highlights both angelic appearances and the work of the Holy Spirit. Together, we’ll explore how these supernatural signs prepared the way for Jesus’ birth and consider how they invite us to respond with the same awe, praise, and worship to the God who works in His own time and way. Join us as we marvel at the power and purpose of God’s supernatural work.

This week, we reflect on the silence of God and the role silence plays in how God works in our lives. Drawing from the 600 years of silence between the Old and New Testaments, we focus on the story of Zachariah in Luke’s gospel, who is silenced for doubting God’s promises. In this passage, signs become a key part of Zachariah’s story, as he is left to communicate his encounter through gestures. We will explore several contemporary applications of this passage, including how we respond when we experience th

In this week's sermon, we delve into the prophetic signs found in the book of Isaiah, which point us to Jesus over six hundred years before His birth. By the time of Jesus, people were expecting a conquering king, but God's plan was different. Through this passage, we will explore how God's ways often challenge our human expectations. We will focus on one of the most powerful Old Testament passages about the "suffering servant," revealing God's purposes for both us and Jesus. Join us as we reflect on how G

In a world filled with uncertainty, conflict, and challenges, this week's sermon invites us to find reassurance in God's plans and purposes—even when they seem hidden. We'll explore Isaiah 40 and the prophetic role of John the Baptist, reflecting on how God works in the most unlikely places, including the wilderness. The desert, often seen in scripture as a place of preparation and testing, reminds us that even in seemingly barren times, God is at work. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be signs of h

In Acts 11:20-21, we see the birth of a missionary vision in the early church, as believers from Cyprus and Cyrene take bold steps to share the gospel in Antioch. Their faith and action spark a movement that transforms the world, you could even call the church in Antioch the "church that changed the world." This pivotal passage sets the stage for the rest of Acts and inspires us to reignite our passion for world mission. As we explore the vision and commitment of this congregation, we are challenged to ref

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at Crofton Baptist Church (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space in our car park or nearby streets and to find a seat before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

After the service, we serve tea, coffee, and biscuits. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and connect with our community. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our band. We typically have 2 or 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church, followed by a short 'all aged' talk that engages the whole church family. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with worship once again, singing 3 or 4 songs. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

  • Creche (0 months to 3 years). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/carer at all times.
  • Starters (3-5 years / preschool age)
  • Followers (6-8 years)
  • Pilgrims (9-11 years)
  • Intrepid (12-14 years)
  • Next Gen (15-18 years)

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome and songs. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Our leaders will bring back the children during the final set of worship songs.

Getting Connected

Life Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our life groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Life Groups page for more information, or speak to Moises who can put you in touch with a life group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
